Our Mission

North Sky Raptor Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit bird of prey (hawks, eagles, falcons, owls, vultures, osprey, kites) rehabilitation center located in Grand Traverse County, Michigan, with an area of impact that reaches all of Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.  Alongside our efforts to rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned raptors, NSRS is also dedicated to environmental education, research, and increasing the overall public awareness of wildlife, ecology, and environmental issues as they relate to raptors and other threatened and endangered migratory birds.  We achieve both of these missions through research partnerships, continuing education, skill sharing/development of prospective future rehabilitators, and an abundance of educational programming (featuring live educational ambassador raptors) both public and private.

The organization was founded in 2018, and is run by the wife/husband duo of Kaitlyn and Jeffrey Bohnet, and a dedicated group of engaged volunteers, who currently operate the organization from their home on private property, and have a passion for raptors, and ensuring their role in the wild, for the enjoyment and appreciation of future generations.
